List of Postgraduate Medical Entrance Exams

The Medical Entrance Exams are performed on an All India level as well as a State level basis. It is carried out for the admission of candidates into a variety of courses that are being offered in many Medical Colleges and Institutes all over India.


List of Entrance Exams
All India PG Dental Entrance Test- Only Indian citizens are entitled to apply for this exam. The candidate must have a B.D.S degree from an accepted Dental College.
All India PG Medical Entrance Test- Only citizens of India can apply for this exam. Candidates should have an M.B.B.S degree from an accepted college of medicine.
Consortium of Medical and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Post Graduate Entrance Test- Candidates must have finished their M.B.B.S/B.D.S degree from an acknowledged Medical/Dental College.
Delhi University Super-specialty Entrance Test – Candidates applying for this exam must have cleared the MBBS course. They must also have finished a one year of mandatory internship.
Maharashtra Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Exam – Candidates who are applying for this exam must have passed their MBBS course from an acknowledged university.
Maharashtra Super-specialty Entrance Test – Candidates must have a Postgraduate MD/MS degree from an accepted University.

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Entrance Exam – Candidates should have a MD degree in Pediatrics or Medicine from an accepted university or college.
Uttar Pradesh Postgraduate Medical Entrance Exam – Candidates who have finished their BDS/MBBS course from any acknowledged medical/dental college are qualified to apply for the exam.

Career prospects

Candidates who have successfully finished their course can find employment according to their field of specialization. There are many Private and Government hospitals all over India which recruit Doctors. The recruitment is done according to the vacancy that is available. Doctors can also conduct private practices on their own. The salary of a doctor who is doing private practice is based on his/her reputation. The initial salary of a doctor working in a government hospital will be around Rs 10,000 – Rs 15,000 per month. The remuneration will be different for those employed in private establishments. The starting salary of BDS graduates working in hospitals will be as much as Rs. 8,000 each month while that of doctors working in their private clinics would be about 6,000 rupees every month.
