Broadcast Engineering is a sub division of electrical engineering that deals with television and radio broadcasting. It is an integration of electrical engineering and information technology. Aspirants who have learned the electrical engineering courses can become Broadcast Engineers. These professionals, in their day-to-day affairs carry out their work on transmitter technologies of radio and television stations. Broadcast Engineers fix up and mend equipments, which are required for broadcasting. They also oversee and maintain transmission feeds, and have power over the acoustic components of broadcasts.
Qualifying Exam
In order to become a Broadcast Engineer, aspirants have to study the engineering graduation in Electrical Engineering. Those who have studied Telecommunication Engineering, Broadcast Technology or any related field can also become the same. However, they should have completed the program from a certified institute so as to become a licensed Broadcast Engineer. After completing their course, Broadcast Engineers work with private or public broadcasting organizations. Most of them work with radio stations or television channels. Some of them work as freelance engineers for many broadcasting stations. They have much scope in space and marine agencies also. In India, Broadcast Engineers can expect emoluments of around Rs. 25000/- per month.
