All India Pre Medical Test Eligibility Criteria

AIPMT is an entrance exam conducted at the National Level. This is for the admission of candidates to MBBS and BDS courses in various reputed colleges in India. The CBSE organizes this exam. All the reputed medical/dental colleges in India give 15% seats for the AIPMT cleared candidates.

Essential academic qualifications for All India Pre Medical Test

The candidates who have passed the higher secondary examination from a reputed institute are eligible for this examination. Also it is compulsory that they must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology during their higher secondary education. Those who are appearing for the examination or awaiting their results can also apply. But they must produce the qualifying examination certificates at the time of admission.

Age Qualification for All India Pre Medical Test

The candidates who wish to take part in this exam should satisfy some age criterion. It is compulsory that they must have attained 17 years of age. Also the upper age limit is 25 years. The reserved categories are given 5 years relaxation. These include SC/ ST and OBC candidates.

Who can apply for All India Pre Medical Entrance Test?

The candidates who have pursued a pass in 10+2 examinations are eligible for this exam. However exceptions are applied to the candidates from Andhra Pradesh and J&K. The domicile candidates of these states are not eligible for applying this exam. If they wish to take part, they should produce necessary document duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/ First Class Judicial Magistrate. Also if they qualify the exam, they are not eligible to take admission in Medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and J&K.

15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC
3% seats are reserved on horizontal basis for PH candidates

Eligibility for the Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO for All India Pre Medical Test

Only Indian citizens are eligible for this examination. The non resident Indians are also eligible. But they must satisfy all the eligibility criterions.
